Arts Within Reach at Wharton Center
The arts have the power to teach, inspire, unify, and transform individuals of all ages and backgrounds. At Wharton Center, we believe that there should be no barriers to the arts—social, economic, or physical. Arts Within Reach is a fund dedicated to ensuring that every person can experience the magic of live performance at Wharton Center.
Contributions to Arts Within Reach:
- Cover costs for K-12 students to attend school day matinees
- Remove barriers of access including ticket price and transportation
- Provide scholarships for students to participate in our arts education programs that support students from Kindergarten through college
- Grow partnerships with community organizations to welcome individuals in all walks of life to Wharton Center
- Support families attending our Sensory-Friendly Performances
Your Gift Will Help Inspire the Next Generation
Students from elementary schools around the state attend school day matinees because of your support.
One student who attended Step Afrika! said:
“Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to watch Step Afrika! I had so much fun watching them. I loved when they had us try to dance like them. I loved the whole thing. Thank you again for the great opportunity to go watch Step Afrika!”
Another put it this way,
“Thank you for contributing the cost of our trip to the Wharton Center to see Step Afrika! I enjoyed the informational and musical parts of the performance. That incredible experience would’ve never happened without your help. That jaw dropping experience might be a once in a lifetime thing I experienced. The field trip made me think more positively about school. Thank you!”
Your support allows us to offer K–12 students a $1 ticket to school day matinees, subsidizing the true cost of $15 per student. A gift of $375 will bring an entire classroom to a school day matinee! Every gift provides the opportunity for children and families to experience live theatre, allowing the next generation to experience the world around them through the beauty and wonder of performing arts.
