The Kinesiology Scholars Fund

Did you know there are over 1,300 undergraduate students majoring in Kinesiology in the College of Education? Nationally and at Michigan State University, this has been a fast-growing area of study. Through rigorous, science-based courses and experiences, Kinesiology graduates leave prepared to lead in a range of health-related professions. They improve lives through their work in schools, fitness centers, clinics and other community organizations.

However, few scholarships exist specifically for Kinesiology students. In fact, only six out of more than 100 scholarships established in the college are dedicated to supporting undergraduate or graduate level Kinesiology students. These scholars deserve more financial opportunities as they pursue degrees that pay dividends to society.

Give to the Kinesiology Scholars Fund and help students launch careers dedicated to improving health and well-being.

The Kinesiology Scholars Fund will provide scholarships of at least $1,000 to as many students as possible. Each scholarship will help ease the strain of paying tuition and allow recipients to focus on their learning. For Kinesiology majors, funding frees up time to experience hands-on research in labs, study abroad or volunteer in their chosen field. Seniors in particular put their knowledge into action during the required “KIN-ternship” at a wide variety of locations, but these valuable field experiences are rarely paid positions.
