  • What is MSU Give Green Day?

    It is one day (24 hours) for Spartans and friends to come together and give back to make a difference and impact current and future students.

  • How do I make a gift?

    You can make a gift to MSU at any time on givingto.msu.edu. On Give Green Day, gifts must be made between the hours of 12:00 a.m. – 11:59 p.m. ET to count. You can also make a gift by phone by calling (517) 884-1136.

  • What is the minimum gift amount?

    $5.00

  • What are challenges?

    There will be giving and photo challenge opportunities throughout the day. Challenge participants have a chance to earn bonus money for the project or fund that matters to them. Check out the Leaderboards page for a complete list of challenges and winners. And be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram for challenge announcements.

  • Can I send a gift by mail?

    We’re happy to receive a gift by mail. But only gifts made online, by phone, or in person between 12:00 a.m. – 11:59 p.m. ET on the day will count towards day of giving.

  • Is it safe to make an online gift?

    Rest assured, online gifts to MSU are made through a safe, secure website. And your information will only be used by Michigan State and is never shared or sold to a third party.

  • Can I give a gift of stock?

    Yes, you can give a gift of stock on Give Green Day. Please call (517) 884-1024 or email kmckenna@msu.edu.

  • Will my gift be tax-deductible?

    Yes, all gifts to MSU are tax-deductible.

  • What other ways can I support Give Green Day?

  • I’m a student, how can I get involved?

    Join us at Give Green Day events around campus. There will be fun giveaways, treats, and a chance to earn bonus money for the project or fund you love. And help us spread the word! Join us on Facebook and Instagram and show your support by using the hashtag #GiveGreenDay.

  • Can I make a recurring gift?

    Yes! And your ongoing support will have a lasting impact on students. Just so you know, only the first payment made on Give Green Day will count towards day of giving totals.

  • Can my employer match my gift?

    Yes they can, but just so you know, only your gift made between 12:00 a.m. – 11:59 p.m. ET on Give Green Day will count towards day of giving totals. To request a matching gift, look for the “I work for a company that matches gifts to the university” check box when entering your gift details and we’ll be notified about your intention. Their matching gift will support the same college or unit you select for your gift.

  • I already made a gift to MSU this year, what else can I do?

    Thank you for your previous gift! We’d love it if you’d consider making another gift in support of Give Green Day. The collective power of many gifts, no matter the size, will make a difference for current and future Spartans. Another way to get involved is to help us spread the word!   • Will my entire gift be matched if the gift qualifies for a matching gift?

    Matches are limited to a maximum of $500 per donor on Give Green Day and gifts will only be matched until the matching fund is exhausted. Gifts may be only partially matched if the gift "closes out" the matching funds for a particular fund.
